SELF-SERVICE HARVEST FESTIVAL
SUNDAY, 4th OCTOBER 2020
ORDER OF SERVICE
WELCOME by David
Leader : Lord, once again you have kept your promise that seed-time and harvest will not cease
All : For your love and goodness, we praise you
Leader : You cause the sun to shine, and the rain to fall
All : For your love and goodness, we praise you
Leader : We thank you for the skill and wisdom of all who work on the land, enabling food to grow
All : For your goodness, we praise you.
Creator God, you made the goodness of the land,
the riches of the sea
and the rhythm of the seasons;
as we thank you for the harvest,
may we cherish and respect this planet and its peoples. Amen.
In the service, Anne Rodell will announce that our toilet in St.Mary’s has now been ‘twinned’ with a toilet in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, one of three poorest countries in the world. By donating money to ‘Toilet twinning’, we are helping to fund a project in the Congo which will enable a family to build their own toilet and to have access to clean water. The picture is of our ‘twin toilet’

PRAYERS Led by Wendy
Generosity
Let us join with Liz, saying THE LORD'S PRAYER:
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen

Thank you for your continuing participation in our online services. Now that we have started having services in church again, as well as definitely continuing to offer Holmbury Self-Service online, we are keen to receive your input, to help us design our online services for the post-lockdown ‘new normal’, whatever that turns out to be. We encourage you to complete the form below, or to contact David at the email address at the bottom of this page.
