Now that we can all worship the Lord (and sing again!) in church each Sunday, we've decided to concentrate our online service offering on those parts of the service that you have told us are most helpful for worship from home or when you are away.

Please let us know if there's anything else you'd like us to include.

Sunday 11th September

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness

Old Testament reading:

Psalm121      (King James Version)

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,

      from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the Lord,

      which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:

he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel

      shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is thy keeper:

the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day,

      nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:

      he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in

from this time forth, and even for evermore.

SERMON preached by David

Let us pray...

Dear Lord, with great sadness, we come to you to remember a lady who has been a bedrock of this nation for so long, a figure of stability and grace. Guide our leaders and new monarch at this time of national loss. Draw close to her family and closest friends. And give us the strength and unselfishness of heart to follow her exceptional life of service. Amen.

Gracious God, we give thanks for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth, for her faith and her dedication to duty.
Bless our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Support us O Lord, all the day long of this troublous life, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes, the busy world is hushed, the fever of life is over and our work is done; then Lord, in your mercy, grant us safe lodging, a holy rest, and peace at the last, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

HYMN  Click and join in or listen:

Praise my soul, the King of heaven

God save our gracious King,

Long live our noble King,

God save the King.

Send him victorious,

Happy and glorious,

Long to reign over us,

God save the King

Thy choicest gifts in store,

On him be pleased to pour,

Long may he reign.

May he defend our laws,

And ever give us cause

To sing with heart and voice,

God save the King.

Eleventh Sunday after Trinity

All my hope on God is founded

Collect for the Eleventh Sunday after Trinity

God of glory,
the end of our searching,
help us to lay aside
all that prevents us from seeking your kingdom,
and to give all that we have
to gain the pearl beyond all price,
through our Saviour Jesus Christ.

New Testament reading:

Hebrews 13: 1 – 8, 15 – 16

1 Let mutual love continue. 2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. 3 Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured. 4 Let marriage be held in honour by all, and let the marriage bed be kept undefiled; for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

5 Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, ‘I will never leave you or forsake you.’
6 So we can say with confidence,

‘The Lord is my helper;

I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?’
7 Remember your leaders, those who spoke the word of God to you; consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. 15 Through him, then, let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.

16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
